Lack of a fear response

I got into a Mexican Standoff with what appears to be the honcho of some East Oakland gang, because I was in East Oakland being a Craigslist scavenger
Later that same day I was approached by a group of three young men in a non descript sedan who pulled up behind me in Martinez wearing white baseball cap with likely SF or A's who smiled and I smiled back, him saying they like my bumper meaning we can identify you by what your car and your face looks like. Or it means something else.
When I get home I park my car in the back yard and leave it there for almost two months and I scrape off the bumper stickers.
Encountering what appears to be Mister Big is what I call a random event.
So this was on a Sunday. The very next Friday my house gets broken into.
My housemae M.L.Shannon left the house before I returned from one of my Craigslist scavenger runs and the details are already reported: google(inresco time precision)

The fellow who first greeted me appeared one more time as he and at least one other person in a similar non descript car park in the next lane at a gas station. This was July 7th. He looked over and saluted me. I smiled back and copied the CA plate 5YFZ389
Update: -=- April 17, 2010: I called the police and reported the incident to find out the car was a Honda registered to a woman in Santa Rosa
I call him Smiley to myself and I have been expecting to encounter him again at which point I plan to smile again as I did then when he waved as if to salute me.
I feel once more like I am in my eleventh hour. Well I have lived a full life. As an autistic I have communication issues and the result is that I have publishable work that is/are contributions to the world's body of knowledge and as I live nearly hand to mouth I have to scramble to make a living and never get the chance to relax enough to get my work published and recognized. My Masters thesis work never got published and I have asked my major professor R.S.Monson for help and I get no response. I have issues with that school: google (inresco csuh)
The animation that I made of the postulated mechanism with MacMovies in 1988 has not survived the advances in technology that resides now with Flash. I have it as a MacroMind Director 4 movie. I studied Quantum Mechanics in grad school and combined quantum mechanics with art producing two animations which still play with the current version of Flash but I haven't checked lately. No one in the scientific community has deemed to hire me so I hang out with hackers because they are smart enough and they let me.
