This shows the screw that holds the beam shown in the next image to the rafters of the carport


The cream colored post behind the hanging rope supports the ends of the two horizontal beams
With the mouse move the cursor over the image to see crude arrows depicting the location of two new posts to support the 4 x 6 beam which supports the carport rafters
The cream colored post will be removed and the two ends of the beam will be cut off and a new 4 x 6 beam will be inserted to align its ends to be over the two new posts which will be added
A jack of some sort will be placed under the T shaped beam affixed to the underside of the rafters to support the roof while the post is removed and the two new posts added, ans while the new 6 foot section of 4 x 6 beam is added


Using the mouse place the cursor over the image to reveal an arrow which shows the hole in which a post will be placed. This post will support the 4 x 6 beam which supports the rafters of the carport
