Julia and I drove to Boulder Creek for T-Day with Nancy. We drove through Hayward and stopped to take pictures of the place where I lived in Fall 1969 through Spring of 1970. They didn't have iron fencing nor the garage building in the foreground. The second story window on the right was part of my apartment.

 LOL
And they put gargoyles on the roof. Place is a lot spiffier. There was no thermostat in the oven of the stove in the place. The bathroom had a metal stall shower. The kitchen had 100's of cockroaches. First time I lived in a place with cockroaches

 OMFG
More gargoyles

Next to where that tree is in the foreground is where I would park my 57 Pontiac. I had the apartment that opened out onto the balcony. In the tower you can see windows with arches. They follow the stairwell inside. While I was living there the woman who was living downstairs stuck a rifle barrel in her mouth and pulled the trigger with her toe.

 OMFG

That arched narrow door gave external access to the stairs which went to the basement. That could be the servants entrance. In the basement were coin operated washers and dryers. I thought once that I could put in a load of wash, come back later and switch the washed clothes to the dryer and come back later and have my just dried clothes still there. Underneath the porch was a space where one could get to which had in it I suppose the place where the master could take one of his maids for a tryst where the mistriss would not find them. I made such a use of that place.
